Last week a few lucky fans were invited to join Nick to celebrate the release of Find You. The event was an intimate listening party hosted by Nick. Our L.A Ambassador, Siena, was there. For those of us who couldn't make the performance, Siena has recapped the night, down to the beer Nick was holding and the feeling in the room, to give you a look inside the Find You Release Party.
This past Thursday Nick unveiled his latest hit, Find You. To celebrate this catchy tune, Los Angeles fans were invited to attend a very intimate listening event at The Peppermint Club. The night itself felt like the start of a new era. Nick came out to perform with a Stella in hand, already setting the tone for a relaxed evening. He mentioned wanting the club to feel like a living room, really proving how close he wanted to feel with the fans in the room. He even had an open bar to all attendees which served three drinks inspired by Find You with names including Find You, Sand Dunes, and Center of the Sun. Let me be the first to say, leave it to Nick to make Sand Dunes taste great.
The selected fans were able to enjoy a performance of five of Nick’s songs which included Chains, Levels, Find You, Close, and ending with Jealous. All performed to perfection with a ton of soul. It's surprising how his voice can still blow me away, but damn this man can sing!
Before playing Find You, he explained what inspired the song. He went on to talk about his experience at Coachella this past year. Him and a friend smoked some weed and danced for about 5 hours in the rave tent (same Nick same). He loved the trance music and how the beats made him feel.
He was so inspired after that, he decided to meet up with Simon Wilcox whom he wrote jealous with, and the two cranked out the masterpiece that is Find You. He also complimented Simon on her ability to really help dig deep and search for his insecurities and use that in his song writing. Personally, I feel that the vulnerability he brings to Find You, is another way the song becomes relatable to so many. So please be aware, this song with get you in your feels but will have you dancing nonstop. With the catchy chorus, there is no way you can hear this song without getting it stuck in your head.
He ended the night thanking the entire crowd for their constant support throughout his journey and though the crowd asked, there is no word on a set date for the new album. The Find You music video is also out now!
